Kalvacherla Mahendar

Filmmaker and screenwriter K V R Mahendra hails from Warangal district in Telangana state. Passionate about cinema from a very young age, Mahendra went on to work in numerous Telugu movies and subsequently directed a short film titled "Nisheedhi" (The Dark). The short feature, which portrayed the struggles of people who sacrificed their lives during the agitation for Telangana in the 1960s, was screened at international film festivals across eighteen countries and received several awards internationally.

In 2019, Mahendra penned and directed a love story set against the backdrop of the feudal system that persisted until the late 1980s. Titled Dorasaani, Mahendra`s directorial debut featured Anand Deverakonda, Sivatmika Rajasekhar and Kishore Kumar in central roles.
Now he directed film called Bharathanatyam.
